The Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP)

3GPP has developed specifications for third generation mobile telecommunications that are a part of the ITU IMT-2000 family.The partnership is also responsible for the maintenance and evolution of the specifications for the GSM standard and transitional technologies towards 3G (GPRS and EDGE).

Current work is focusing on the evolution (LTE) of the UMTS standard to provide true broadband mobile and a system beyond 3rd Generation.

Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India (AUSPI) is the representative industry body of Unified Access Service Licensees providing telecom services in the country. AUSPI is a registered society and works as a non-profit organization - Delivering the promise of improved Access, Coverage and Teledensity in India.

The objectives of the Association include collection and dissemination of knowledge and information for promotion and healthy growth of telecom services, enunciating a telecom vision for India , fueling unprecedented domestic
investment, improving teledensity and bringing value for customers.

The Association interacts on policy and regulatory issues with various Government bodies such as the Department of Telecommunications, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, apex industry organizations like ASSOCHAM, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), technical institutions, financial analysts and other institutions of world repute. The Association formulates expert opinion on industry issues and submits whenever necessary, recommendations to the concerned authorities.




The CDMA Development Group (CDG) is a consortium formed to foster the advancement of CDMA. The CDG is a global organisation of the world’s leading wireless operators, manufacturers and suppliers collaborating on the evolution of CDMA through advanced features and services development, public relations, international education and deployment programs and regulatory affairs. Communications and Manufacturing Association of India (CMAI), a professional registered association, is involved in policy formulations with Government and other stake holders for technology innovations, indigenous manufacturing and communications sector and for policies concerning environmental, pollution and health. It cultivates generally good values in public and general awareness and protection in the field of health effects, synthetic and polluted environment and also the significance of natural environment and rural areas as a whole in an integrated way and manner and global peace.

CMAI is developing scientific knowledge and practical means for protecting man and his environment from the harmful effects of environmental hazards like e-waste, radiation etc.

IPTV India Forum is a non profit organisation set up in 2007 to advocate, enhance and communicate the Broadband’s true potential for value addition in the services of IPTV and Mobile TV. The Forum is to work proactively in building an IPTV eco system and to interact with industry, policy and regulatory body in India.






ITU–APT Foundation of India is a non-political, non-profit and non-governmental society engaged in coordination, promotion and formulation of expert opinion on topical telecommunication subjects including Radio communications, spectrum management, radio regulations, telecommunication standardization and telecommunication development. Our membership includes corporate, associates and professionals in the field of telecom, IT and broadcast in both government and private sector in India.









Formed in 1996 the UMTS Forum is an international industry association committed to the success of Third Generation (3G) UMTS mobile systems. Bringing together players from across the mobile industry on a peer-to-peer basis, the UMTS Forum promotes a common vision of 3G/UMTS and its Long Term Evolution as well as its worldwide commercial success. Membership of the UMTS Forum is open to all organisations with a commercial interest in 3G/UMTS mobile – including fixed and mobile network operators, infrastructure vendors, terminal device manufacturers, regulators, media/content providers and developers of 3G/UMTS services and applications.
